Birdwatching tours and ornithology in Sierra de Guara - Spain


The singular and perfectly preserved landscapes of Sierra of Guara in Aragon are not only the paradise for canyoning, trekking or climbing, they shelter also many species of birds, more than hundred among which several tens of raptors. Exceptional birdwatching spot in Spain and Pyrenees for ornithologist confirmed or beginners, you will discover - according to the seasons - several species (sometimes rare) of vultures, eagles, milans, falcons and multitudes of other birds more discrete, accompanied by local guides, specialists and impassioned.

This Aragonese area, near the Pyrenees, represents a refuge for many populations of birds. Ideal for birdwatching and ornithological observation, cliffs with ascending winds, drills of leafy trees or thorn-bushes, plains, surroundings of villages, garigue, rivers or throats are several habitats with micro ecosystems in which live and are concentrated many species of  migratory or sedentaries birds.

Thus, from  the various selected watching stations, we will be able to see, listen, learn, identify and recognise in a ludic way the characteristics of various species and families of birds of Sierra de Guara: from the wagtails to the titmouses, from the swallows to the raven, from the cranes to the fishing martins, not to forget the single concentration in Europe of raptors in Sierra de Guara, the sharp falcon, the frightening eagles and the impressive Griffon Vultures or magestious Lammergeier in their flying ballets.
