Fields of almond trees in bloom facing the peaks of the Sierra de Guara

Throughout the Sierra de Guara, with the come back of Spring, beautiful flowers cover the almond tree twigs with pristine white or pink depending on the variety of almond tree, whether cultivated or wild. Almond trees are emblematic trees of the Mediterranean landscapes present in Spain and contribute to its charm.

For many years, before the arrival of adventure tourism and canyoning, the cultivation of almond trees had an important place in the subsistence agriculture of Aragon and in particular in the Sierra de Guara whose local economy depended greatly on it, in parallel of the cultivation of olive trees for olive oil, flocks of sheep or even, more recently, wine production.

Sign of the rebirth of nature after the long and cold winters that we know in this massif of the pre-Pyrenees, the almond trees invite you to follow the old paths that cross the Sierra de Guara, while waiting for the imminent return of aquatic canyoning. . season (from April) . Enjoy!!
