If the Sierra des Guara is a world-renowned spot for canyoning, it owes it to its sumptuous landscapes, to its vast choice of routes from the simplest to the most technical, but also (and certainly above all) to privileged climatic conditions which allow a beginner audience and young children to be introduced to canyoning more comfortably.
This territory with a preferential microclimate, stable, “hot but not too hot” (with an average altitude of 700m), the omnipresence of the sun in summer around the Valle de Rodellar (see video) and a majority orientation of the canyons towards the South allow exposed waters to warm up during the day. These ideal conditions invite swimming and water games in the natural pools scattered along the rios of Guara. Moreover, we have access within a radius of barely 20 km to a dozen canyoning routes suitable for young children or adolescents, the choices of programming and progressions over one or more days are logistically very practical both to optimize safety as the pleasure of each participant. Under its naturally favorable conditions, the appearance of technical canyoning equipments (neoprene, helmets, arnais) adapted to very small bodies have also opened the activity for younger children whose limited cold resistance remained a brake on their initiations.
For more than 40 years in Sierra de Guara, Expediciones and its guides have introduced thousands of families to canyoning. You can discover our offers of canyoning with children or contact us if you need specific advice.
